Snow Buntings here in SW Harbor, MDI, as well. Yesterday we had a lone bird below our feeder (first ever as a yard bird), and today had 8 across the road in the neighbor's "dooryard."
Also had 2 Common Grackles at our feeder on 12/23, and a Red-tailed Hawk on 12/24 in Searsport.

A small flock of Snow Buntings flew up from a weedy patch on New Dam Rd., in Sanford this afternoon. Since I haven't been out all "winter" after a car accident, it was a beautiful sight to see the black/brown and white "twinkling" as they flew out of sight.
Glad you got your power back Joel. I too had to sand my ice-clad driveway and walk.Barbara~~

Since the power has just come back (for now), I can report that a couple of Snow Buntings came to the feeders this morning! What a great bird to see in the yard. After I sanded the (skating rink-like) driveway and put some seed on it, they moved to it and have been hanging around all day, along with 6-8 others who were here briefly.--
This ice storm has made me wonder what birds and small animals can do for food when everything is ice-covered. It seems as though it would be almost impossible for them to get at seeds or whatever.
Also, here's a link I found fascinating about Chickadees:
