Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end   time: 16:30:00
Total observation time: 8.5 hours

Official Counter:        Katrina Fenton

Observers:        Don Thompson, Jeannette Lovitch

Visitors:
15.

Weather:
An overcast start to the day rapidly cleared to mostly sunny conditions.
The few clouds that lingered provided a scant backdrop for birds crossing
the blue. The wind shifted around from the west in the morning to
north-northeast by mid-day, then finished the day out of the northwest.
Temperatures were in the low 60s.

Raptor Observations:
Most birds were distant, specks getting sucked into the blue bowl of the
sky. The bulk of the flight tapered as the day progressed, but as it did, a
few falcons and Northern Harriers added variety to the mix.

Non-raptor Observations:
35 species were observed at the summit today. Songsters at the summit
trilled and warbled through the morning, while migrants worked their way
north.

Non-raptor migrants:

Red-breasted Merganser- 3 Double-crested Cormorant- 100
Common Loon- 1   Killdeer- 1   Belted Kingfisher- 2
Eastern Bluebird- 1  Brown-headed Cowbird- 1
blackbird sp.- 46  Tree Swallow- 10  Barn Swallow- 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler- 2  Palm Warbler- 1
warbler sp.- 3  passerine sp.- 2

Predictions:
Tomorrow will be a little cooler with temperatures running in the upper
50s. Partly cloudy skies will gradually clear. The wind will be light, out
of the northeast in the morning and swinging to the southeast sometime in
the afternoon. It should be pretty good for migrants.
