[Maine-birds] Sedgwick birds

The Downeast Audubon conducted a field trip starting at 5:00AM today at the Great Meadow.  The highlights of the morning were 2 American Bitterns with a few song vocalizations and many different sightings of what I would assume are paired up partners, at least 6 Swamp Sparrows singing their "guts out", at least 4 and maybe up to 8 Wilson Snipe flying around (unfortunately no close, great sightings or any winnowing vocalizations heard), the sighting of the male Northern Harrier on his favorite perch and observation of his "Sky Dance" that was observed by participants for about 30 seconds (a little early in the year for repeated performances of this most beautiful prenuptial behavior).  Dawn at a meadow are something special this time of the year.  Was a most memorable occasion and was so glad that I made the effort to get going at a rather ungodly hour.
