[Maine-birds] Harris's Sparrow, Etc

Linda Woodard & I went up to Lavant to see the Harris's Sparrow. We were
there over an hour before it finally made an appearance. This was a
lifer for both of us & my 100th Maine bird this year.

Thanks go out to Carol & her husband for their gracious hospitality. Oh,
I can't leave out Molly, their miniature poodle, who greeted us warmly.

On our ride home, I checked Ebird for reports from the Portland area &
saw Brendan McKay's reports on the Lesser Black-backed Gull & Northern
Shrike he saw only about a half hour before we got to Portland. We went
right to Mill Creek Cove & found the gull on the mud flats out at the
mouth of the cove with a number of other gulls. We then went to Wells
Road & found the Shrike teed up on a tree at the east edge of the Jordan
Farm field. We didn't find the Red-winged Blackbird he reported though.

All in all a good day,

Turk

Cape Porpoise
