Already, before any snow on the ground, Hiram has been seeing a variety of winter finches, Today there are at least 20 Pine Grosbeaks in the crabapple tree. Earlier in the week there were a handful of Red Crossbills (probably still around); just before that there were 4 Evening Grosbeaks that hung around for a couple of days. The Pine Siskins from a couple of weeks ago haven't been seen recently, but the new arrivals certainly make up for it.
