Comments: J. Shaefer from DC and I found an Osprey placing the first 2 branches onto the top of a telephone pole in the MDIHS parking lot. We have the first pictures of this Osprey carrying a large stick. Will it finish what it started?

Comments: Judith S. from DC and I made a special stop at the head of Somes Sound. Surveyed for years, this location provides a vivid look at the size of the large diurnal tide that has scoured out this cove since the retreat of the Wisconcian Glacier.

Comments: Judith S and I birded the Somes Sound overlook with great birds on the eastern side of the shore Road. Great for Alder Flycatcher and Yellow Warbler.

Comments: Judith S from DC and I found ourselves searching for waterbirds. The SUTTON ISLAND OSPREY are sitting on their nest presumably with eggs or young. This nest has been recorded for over 75 year and stands 10 or more feet high. Harbor seal bottle-nosing but very quiet on the water.
