After a somewhat disappointing seawatch from Hermit I this morning, I flushed 2 Long-eared owls on a brief hike. Photo here:

Elsewhere, a male B Kingfisher is fishing from a flagpole at the church on the Kennebec in Phippsburg, a spot where they often over-winter. There's an alewife ladder nearby that attracts them.
