[Maine-birds] Re: JANUARY 19 SeaBC Deposit check requested

Hello to all of you,

 

The Gulf of Maine   SeaBC  is on for the Weekend of January 19,  2013. 

 

I have decided that the best way to handle the financial side of this trip is to ask all of you to send a 75$ check to:

IF the trip does not go the check will be returned or destroyed....   I am totally confident that the birding gods will smile on us and give a good weather window... always the optimist!!

 

You should all be ready to go on Friday 18th .....Saturday 19th ....or Sunday 20th.   The preferred day will be the Saturday 19th  BUT Toby and I will start watching the weather around Wednesday and try to determine the weather off shore....  and make the Best weather call... possibly as late as Thursday night.

 

We will meet at the NORTHEAST HARBOR TOWN PIER and LEAVE AT 5:45 AM....  for points to be determined just prior to the trip. My plan is to head towards the Ducks and Mount Desert Rock  and Toby mentioned Petit Manan also as a stop...  Either way there will be plenty to see...we all need to ask the powers to be for a clear and cold high front to settle over the region!! 

 

It looks like we have about 15 people that are committed but we should try to recruit a few more....  most of you know Toby Stephenson, Captain of the "Osprey"  which is a fantastic new boat build by College of the Atlantic.... 

 

FOOD and Water/drink is up to all of us to bring.  WARM CLOTHS  AND HAND AND FEET WARMERS....these will make the trip less difficult if you are sensitive to the cold. The cabin is warm so we have a place to get out of the weather.
