The Barrow's has two new playmates today. A pair of Drake Ring-Necked Ducks are swimming right in front of my window with the Barrow's Drake and have been for the past 30 minutes. Saw the Peregrine yesterday. There are two, a 1st Year and an adult that have been hanging out near MERC and Downtown Saco.
-- On a side note, this weekend after chatting with a few birders I thought that it might be a good idea to create a Flickr group for supplementing sightings reported to the bird list. A large number of us use Flickr and by creating this group we can post our photos on our own photostreams and then share them with the group. By sharing them with the group, other birders that use this listserv have one address that they can visit regularly to see birds photographed around the state.
The rules are really simple, don't overly doctor up the image, and please post the Date, Location and Species in the Title or Caption of the image. Additionally, if you are not sure of the species you can request help with the ID and people can leave comments to help positively identify the bird.
If you use flickr feel free to join the group and add your images. I hope this is a useful addition to the community.
