A friend reports seeing a VARIED THRUSH at a private home on Coleman
Pond in Lincolnville, observed several times at or near his feeders
over three to four days, most recently this past weekend. His
description of the bird is right on for a male, with a dark breast
band on a rusty breast and bright orange legs. He's knowledgeable
about local birds and knew this was something unusual; he said that he
and his partner looked at it carefully in an attempt to ID it, before
they realized what it was and how out of place it was. He says he'll
call me and keep trying to get a photograph if it reappears.
