My friend Ron and I did a birthday hike up Sargent Mountain (Acadia National Park). It was a glorious day! It was difficult to hear birds over the blustery wind, but we did manage a nice list of birds, with highlights including:
2 Ruffed Grouse
1 Black-backed Woodpecker
1 Common Raven (not uncommon, but I love these birds as they wheel on the summit winds)
1 Lapland Longspur (hanging out with 2 Snow buntings in the alpine summit environment)
2 Red Crossbill
