Report from a friend that she saw a Snowy Owl near the Moody Beach parking lot early this morning, up in the pines. Searched Footbridge and Moody along the Ogunquit River to the dunes with no luck about 11:30am. Spotted a hawk, thought to be a Coopers atop the peak of the restroom building beach side of the footbridge. Got a photo to study. Plenty of Mallards in the river.
-- Checked along marsh roads from Moody to Wells Harbor. No luck. Saw several groups of Canada Geese in the marsh off the Furbish Road. Lots of Mallards.
Checked Wells Harbor Jetty then Drake's Island Jetty around 12:30-1:00pm with no luck. Must have missed the one spotted on the Drakes jetty earlier by other reporter this website. Several rafts of Common Eiders near the jetties closest to the harbor. (Some kind of dredging going on in the harbor)
Walked the footpath loop at the Rachel Carson Refuge park Wells/Kennebunk Route 9. No birds or wildlife spotted.
Parson's Beach gave us three Horned Grebes next to the bridge and about 6-8 Goldeneyes that didn't stay long enough for a photo due to other foot traffic.
Quick trip back to the Cliff House in Cape Neddick before sunset. Checked location from yesterday where I photo'd the Snowy, but no luck this time.
