Hi all,
I decided to spend my day off looking for Snowy Owls, and it paid off. In the Biddeford Pool area, I saw a total of 10. Six were perched various places along Mile Stretch and Fortune's Rocks Roads, one along Ocean Ave, one on Wood Island, one alighted briefly atop a large spruce as I was leaving East Point Sanctuary, and one was on Stage Island. I continued my search in Scarborough Marsh and Cape Elizabeth, but uncovered no more in the afternoon.
Other highlights included about 30 Purple Sandpipers and 1 Hermit Thrush at East Point and 40+ Harlequin Ducks at Dyer Point.
