Comments: The cruise ship Regatta was in port. A foggy Ocean Trail Hike lead to many observations along the trail. Common birds are the trend for this mornings walk and no surprises along the way.  Many birds along the way to Otter Point.

Hairy Woodpecker (Picoides villosus) 1 working on a Big toothed Aspen.

American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos) 5
Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) 45 several large groups of mixed flocks were found all along the ocean drive today.
Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta canadensis) 1

Golden-crowned Kinglet (Regulus satrapa) 15
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata) 32 mostly first year birds along the entire length of the shore

Comments: Grace and Peter White and Norma and Bob Gillespie from Scotland across the water....Checking on the top of Cadillac was a good stop with several migratory species seen. Winds started out lofting out of the Southeast that switching to southwest and gusty.Warblers and a Merlin. Ranger Todd was betting on 3 birds while intern Matt was hoping for 5 species. Merlin was a good start.

Great Egret (Ardea alba) 6 We counted them scattered through the outlet of Northeast creek... very cool
Greater Yellowlegs (Tringa melanoleuca) 1 flew off towards the south fighting the wind and moving low over and through the forest and trees
Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon) 2
