Comments:     Another Frisbee story involving one  Eastern Meadowlark who adopted the ball field for the afternoon among long throws and diving catches by this hippy birder happy for meadowlark.  Graham allowed me a few minutes to photograph the bird in excellent sunlight. The last time I saw these was two weeks prior on the cattle fields of central Cuba. In Cuba we find the subspecies Sturnella magna hippocretis found widespread on the mainland, Isla de Pinos, Cayo Coco and Romano.   Here on MDI this is a migratory bird always passing through or spending short amounts of time around Island farms, like the Rockefeller Farm.   I love seeing this bird here and FOY.   A MERLIN came cruising by. Young bird pre-adult plumage.

Comments:     Birthday party for Maddy G. and working around the house when the soft whistle call of an old friend,  Catharus guttatus,  Hermit Thrush.   A few call notes this morning from the same bird.  Could be our resident bird but time will tell. . I have some incredible shots of the female from five feet away.  Also,  have had a nest under the large-leafed Aster in front of the house.  An amazing cover for the little thrushes. As the leaves grew in size they covered the nest perfectly.
2 species

Golden-crowned Kinglet (Regulus satrapa)  1
Hermit Thrush (Catharus guttatus)  1     Male calling giving a few scattered notes last evening.
