Just spent 40 minutes walking around Deering Oaks with no sign of the Great Black Hawk. The young Red-tailed Hawk was very active along Park Ave, making multiple attempts at Rock Pigeons throughout my visit. That activity might be enough to deter the black hawk this morning...
Three other birders were present when I left and I don't think this report should discourage others from looking based on the black hawk's patterns the last few days.
