[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights and New Arrivals, 7/4-10



Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days including the following:

- Hiking South and North Crocker Mountain, Carrabassett Valley, 7/4 (with Levi Burford, Katrina Fenton, and Jeannette): 1 FOX SPARROW, Bicknell's Thrushes on both mountains, 1 Philadelphia Vireo, 1+ WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL, 5++ Red Crossbills, and 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

- 3 UPLAND SANDPIPERS, 9+ GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS, 3 Red Crossbills, etc, Kennebunk Plains, Kennebunk, 7/7. 

-  "Search for Troppy" tour with Isle au Haut Boat Services to Seal Island, 7/10:1 RED-BILLED TROPICBIRD. Unbelievable experience with Troppy, despite the fog. GREAT CORMORANTS, 2+ COMMON MURRES, and great Razorbill and Atlantic Puffin show.
