[Maine-birds] Re: American Avocet - Scarborough Marsh

Avocet was still present through at least 2:30 pm today, feeding actively in a shallow panne.  Certainly not visible from Eastern Trail.  We had to walk waaaaay back toward the northeast along the sort-of "trail" through the pannes before we got good looks.  It was farther along in the pannes, past an old hunting blind. Will upload photos to eBird.

(Also: what's up with GoogleGroups that you can't post from a mobile device?  Noticed that Matthew Gilbert also had trouble doing that this morning.)

I just had an Avocet way back in the pannes. Not currently visible to me, but I didn't see it fly. I'm not sure it'll be visible from the trail - this is way back left towards the duck blinds if you're looking from the trail. Good numbers of peeps including a Western Sandpiper in the drier pannes out here also.
