Re: [Maine-birds] flycatcher ID assistance please-south berwick

I'd say Willow or Alder Flycatcher, which are nearly identical, and even their calls can be confused. Just say "Empidonax". 😉

Yesterday in South Berwick I photographed this flycatcher.  It had an unusual call which is what caught my attention.  The lighting was not the best so not sure if anyone can help.  I am always lost with little birds but I am coming up with either Alder or Acadian ( which i realize is rare, this picture does not show the crest on the head, another pic I have does somewhat).  I don't think it is a least, I have heard those before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
