[Maine-birds] Tennessee Warblers

Today I saw a flock of four Tennessee Warblers feeding in a single apple tree on Ward Hill in Unity.  This seemed a very odd occurrence in late October based on my past experience.  There seems to be something going on with this species considering that it is the eighth outing this month that I have seen the species(!).

Obviously, numbers increased with the spruce budworm outbreak over the last couple of years, but the tardiness this year is surprising.  Anyways, fun to see such bright little guys as everything turns brown up here.

Good birding,
tom
