I was surprised to see a warm yellow bird with wing bars on the ground and in the trees near my beehives TODAY - It appeared to be a young female Baltimore Oriole, but that seems like a very unusual species to see around here just now. And they are not, even in season, a species I expect to see snacking on my bees (I did not, BTW, see this one doing that - but many birds do tend to hang out and enjoy a little extra protein, and the bees are out in force today, given the warmth ). Thoughts? Not a great photo, alas. Another picture attached is one I managed to catch showing its back and tail from behind.
