[Maine-birds] Cool birds in city limits: Ellsworth

Birded this morning with Billy Helprin in Ellsworth.

In the waste vegetation surrounding the MalWart, we located a singing Savannah Sparrow; also edge habitat nearby served up a B-&-w Warbler and Cedar Waxwing.

In the MacQuinn blueberry barrens (just off Rte 1 n), a Vesper Sparrow, an E. Bluebird visiting a nest box and hungry kids, and a hunting female Am. Kestrel. Also, a vociferous Brown Thrasher.

Cheers,
Craig K
