Out and about for Coastal Mountains Land Trust today, saw three eider
hens together with a bunch of chicks offshore near Ducktrap Harbor in
Northport. Got a good laugh at one point when one chick ran across the
top of a mat of floating seaweed to rejoin the group.
Then on the Passagassawakeag River at the Head of Tide Preserve, saw a
common merganser with six (fairly large) chicks.
