[Maine-birds] Maquoit Bay - Jan 07

Scanned the bay from Mere Pt. Road about noon today.  Distant looks at waterfowl, but the light angle is great from this vantage point.  FAC and almost nil chop.  Large scaup flock estimated (counted while most were diving repeatedly, usually in unison) at 208.  Of these, most hens weren't carefully evaluated.  2 of the drakes were Lessers, though.

No Cans or Redheads.

also:
4 WW Scoter
36 Bufflehead
50 Com Goldeneye
6 Hooded Mergansers
3 RB Mergansers
1 Com Loon
1 Ad Bald Eagle standing on the ice
and 3 Wild Turkey Toms foraging in yard next door
