[Maine-birds] Re: Northern Goshawk in downtown Brunswick

I've received several replys concerning the accipiter sighting, and the expert opinion is the bird is a Cooper's Hawk.  Thanks for the input.

Today, a juvenile Northern Goshawk was observed in downtown Brunswick.  It was perched on a weathervane on the church steeple at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Maine Street.  After first sighting the bird at 11:30 am, it was still perched on the weathervane when I drove by two hours later.  Definitely a strange place for this forest accipiter.
