[Maine-birds] Re: Varied Thrush, Freeport - NO - as of 11:00am, 1/4.

I was there with another birder this morning in the bitter cold.  Unfortunately we had no Varied Thrush to show for several hours of careful watching.  However, I did see a flyover thrush around 9am - probably a robin, but I wasn't astute enough to see whether there was a wing stripe.  It flew north toward the end of the point.  It WAS quite the woodpecker show with 2 Red-bellied (both female) and a surprise visit from a Northern Flicker.

Many thanks to Amanda and Ben for their kind hospitality!  They let us stay past 9am today as the baby was staying pretty active.

Yesterday afternoon there were about a dozen Common Redpolls visiting the feeders in my yard in North Yarmouth.
