Kristen Lindquist, Phil McCormack, and I covered the Moody area for today's CBC. We tallied 57 species, slightly below my average for this wonderfully productive territory.
Highlights included the following:
- 1 CLAY-COLORED SPARROW (CCSP), Wells Sewage Treatment facility. 1st Count Record; photos.
- 1 BROWN THRASHER (BRTH), Wrlls Sewage Treatment facility. 1st Count Record; photos.
- 1 COMMON YELLOWTHROAT (COYE), Moody Beach. 9th count record.
- 1 hen Greater Scaup, Ogunquit Rivermouth. 6th year recorded on count.
- 1 Hermit Thrush, Wells Sewage Treatment facility.
- 1 American Pipit, Moody Beach.
- 12 Dunlin (7th year recorded on count) with count-record 189 Sanderlings, Moody/Oqunquit Beach.
- 1 Iceland Gull, Ogunquit Beach.
- 4 Northern Harriers (at least two definite migrants, including one male offshore shorty after dawn.
- 3 Great Blue Herons, inc. 2 southbound migrants.
