[Maine-birds] Re: Minot snowy owl continues for third day - Jan 25 a.m.

I went back today too.   Hubby had never seen a snowy.   The snowy had been joined by another owl in the little copse of trees - probably a saw whet - but all 3 of us who were watching never got a good look at the face - only profile.   I'd love another pair of eyes on that bird to positively ID.  All 3 of us thought we saw a black band around the face plate.   I  may go back again with my spotting scope.

The snowy owl was still on Pottle Hill Road in Minot this morning as

Turn right on rte 119, go about half a mile and turn left on Pottle
Hill Road.  It was on the left about 1/2 mile up the hill, past the
large open field and farm house, and on a knoll about 50 yards beyond
the farm house.
