In Belfast Harbor today between the Boathouse and the public landing is a loon that had me stumped. It was the usual grey and white, except there was an unusual amount (I thought) of white showing on its side above the water line as it floated about. The white showed across the middle two thirds of the bird and was quite pronounced. Could this be a common loon that's tricking me? It didn't seem large enough.......
