[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights and Shorebird High Counts, 8/1-7.

Hi all,
My observations of note over the past seven days included the following:

- Sporadic coastal plain RED CROSSBILLS continue - as they have been for almost two months now. But my only one this week was a single over Old Town House Park, North Yarmouth, 8/1 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 1 DICKCISSEL (FOY), Wharton Point, Brunswick, 8/4 (with Jeannette).
- Scattered Yellow-billed Cuckoos (and more vociferous Black-billeds) continue as usual at this time of year, including one calling in our yard (where annual) on 8/4.
- 4 Surf Scoters, Dyer Point, Cape Elizabeth, 8/5.
- 1 continuing TRICOLORED HERON X SMALL WHITE EGRET SP(S) and 1 continuing adult WHITE-FACED IBIS, Eastern Road Trail, 8/5.
- 3 juvenile YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS (FOY), Great Pond, Biddeford Pool, 8/7 (with Pay Moynahan).
