We took the Casco Bay mailboat out of Portland. The chilly 3 hour tour calls in to Little and Great Diamond, Long Island, Chandlers Cove on the south end of Chebeague and Cliff Island. Lots of deflated white buoys on shore but no confirmed snowy owls, to report. We did hear a second hand report of a snowy spotted last week on Long Island.
-- Highlights included Red Throated Loons (3), Common Loon (~48), Long tailed ducks, common eider, Surf Scoters (lots), one black scoter, Common and RB mergansers, buffleheads, common golden eye, a DB cormorant, and Bald eagles (3).
