My latest newspaper column is on snowy owls at airports. It’s on the BDN web site now and in the paper tomorrow. I subsequently received this from the Bar Harbor airport and I promised to forward any advice birders can give.
“Noticed your article on BDN about the snowy owls, and just wanted to share with you that we have had a number of them hanging around the Hancock County – Bar Harbor Airport. So far, we have been able to scare them away, but that is getting less and less effective. Realizing it would be a shame to have to shoot one of them, I figured I would reach out and inquire about whether you may be able to give me some alternate advice or point me in the direction of somebody who can?”
