[Maine-birds] Snowy Owls eating??

Sorry for the non report of a bird.

I can't resist asking if anyone sees these birds get something to eat. Maybe the inside one was the smart one. (Do they eat pigeons? Rather larger than voles/lemmings.) On the other hand, I've seen a few Snowy Owls in my birding life, and have never seen one even attempt to catch something. Maybe when no humans are around? They do hunt by day, though. I recall the report of one trying
 unsuccessfully to catch something.

Subject: [Maine-birds] Bar Harbor Snowies

There are actually two Snowies at the Bar Harbor - Trenton Airport. At dusk there was still one on the power pole across from the Morris Yacht entrance and a second on a storage building behind the long term parking. With any luck maybe we will give Biddeford a run for its money.
