It was a very quiet day in the North Maine Woods, up around the Chamberlain Bridge area. There were numerous pine grosbeaks picking grit in the road, but no other finches anywhere. We had six Gray, excuse me, Canada Jays, but only one American Three-toed Woodpecker. And though we looked everywhere, we couldn’t find a single Great Black Hawk anywhere in the woods.
