I'm delighted to see Elizabeth's quotation from Robert Frost's poem, "The Ovenbird." I learned it by heart long ago, and the last two lines are especially relevant today: "The question that he frames in all but words/Is what to make of a diminished thing."

Spotted an Ovenbird under our backyard feeders in Wells, Maine, yesterday. It was here again this afternoon moving under the flowering plants and shrubs looking for seed, I presume. This is a first for our feeders.
