[Maine-birds] Belfast Bay Census

This morning a friend and I made a census of Belfast Bay as part of an ongoing study of the bird species that make use of the bay during the fall, winter, and spring months.  We found only 13 species.   Again, there was a large number of Mallards (410), but only relatively small number of Herring Gulls (167), for which I have no explanation.   The entire list can be seen at

Respectfully submitted,
Ron Harrell
