York County

A MISSISSIPPI KITE was seen flying over Kittery Point towards Seapoint Beach on the morning of the 6th.

On the 5th, a LITTLE GULL was photographed at the north end of Drake's Island in Wells.

The WHITE-EYED VIREO at Laudholm Farm continues to be seen, typically from the intersection of the Knight and Barrier Beach Trails.

A SANDWICH TERN was seen roosting with BONAPARTE'S GULLS along the sandbar to Basket Island, located off of Hills Beach in Biddeford, on the 8th.

On the 14th, an adult SOOTY TERN was reported from Biddeford Pool, last seen flying towards Eastern Point.

An adult YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen on Stratton Island on the morning of the 10th.

Greater Portland

Two TRICOLORED HERONS and two WHITE-FACED IBIS continue to be seen throughout the Scarborough Marsh, typically seen from the Eastern Trail.

Kennebec River Valley (Augusta-Waterville)

An ORCHARD ORIOLE was recorded from the west end of Piggery Road at the Viles Arboretum in Augusta on the 15th.

Midcoast

Out-of-season waterfowl continues to be seen from Simpson Point in Brunswick, including: 24 BLACK SCOTERS, several LONG-TAILED DUCKS, a GREATER SCAUP, and an adult RED-NECKED GREBE.

Central Maine

Several COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen at the Taylor Road bait ponds in Orono on the 7th.

Downeast

An apparent SOUTH POLAR SKUA was photographed from a whale watch out of Bar Harbor on July 6th.

A SHORT-EARED OWL was reported from the intersection of Willey District Road and Route 1 in Cherryfield on the 10th.

Northern Maine

A LONG-EARED OWL was found nesting in a private yard in Fort Fairfield.
