[Maine-birds] Hermit Thrush in Lubec

Today while driving south from Lubec on the Boot Cove Road I saw a thrush-like bird fly across the road.  My interest piqued, I slowed down and to my astonishment a Hermit Thrush was sitting on a bare branch about 10 feet in from the road's edge.  I estimate this location is approximately 1 mile from the Boot Cove Road intersection with the South Lubec Road.

And while heading south on Highway 1 through East Machias, a Peregrine Falcon flew low across the highway in hot pursuit of a Rock Pigeon.  The sky immediately overhead was full of dodging Rock Pigeons and flapping Common Crows - all trying to keep out of the way!  The Peregrine Falcon was not successful and I lost sight of it as I drove slowly by - I couldn't pull over to the side of the road as there is no side of the road Downeast - just 3-4 foot berms of snow that take up all the room on the road shoulders....
