[Maine-birds] Scarborough through South Portland (KILL, GADW, NOPI, GWTE, NSHR, white-winged gulls, etc), 2/23.

Hi all,

Phil McCormack and I enjoyed a glorious spring (half-) day of birding, working our way between Scarborough Marsh and the South Portland waterfront. Highlights included a nice mix of first-of-years (FOY) and winter specialties:

- 1 KILLDEER (FOY) and 3 drake Northern Pintails, Eastern Road Trail.
- 1 pair GADWALL (FOY) and 1+ Snow Bunting, Pine Point.
- two 1st-winter Iceland and one 1st-winter Glaucous gulls, Western Beach.
- 18 Harlequin Ducks, Two Lights State Park.
- 1 immature Northern Shrike and 10 Harlequin Ducks, Dyer Point.
- 1 drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL (FOY), 2-3 1st-winter Glaucous, and 8+ 1st-winter Iceland gulls, Mill Creek Cove.

-Derek
