RE: [Maine-birds] Snowy Owl, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport

Although I didn't spend much time scanning the entire Owls Head airport runway this morning, one snowy was perched on the orange runway lights at west end of runway on  RTE 73.

Kristen Anderson, a friend who lives near Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport, reported seeing a Snowy Owl there today while snowshoeing up the trail with her two little boys. (They were the first ones to break trail there since yesterday's snowstorm.) According to her, the owl has since flown from the fields to the right of the main trail onto the chimney of a nearby house visible from the trail.
