[Maine-birds] Rainy morning snowies

This morning I discovered two new (to me) snowy owls. The first bird was at junction of Greenhouse Road and West Meadow Road in Rockland - a light colored bird perched atop a utility pole, and definitely not the dark-bodied Portland owl that was released 100 yards away. A second light colored individual at junction of Butler Road and Buttermilk Lane - similarly perched on utility pole. Also red-tailed and rough-legged in the same field. Two dark birds remain at Owls Head airport - one faithful bird sitting beneath the same runway lights at west end of strip. By 10:30 am dense snow fog was shrouding the uplands, precluding owl checks at Beech and Clarry Hill.
