[Maine-birds] thrush-West Kennebunk

Have been treated to competing wood thrush sing-offs the past 3 weeks. Three right around my house and 2 more a short distance away. From 8:30 - 9:00 PM it gets very loud, constant and beautiful to listen to. By 9 there is always just one left to close out the evening. I have always had them around here- just not so close by-what a pleasure and privilege to look forward to each evening!

Also have noted more Monarch butterflies starting to pass thru than in the last 2 years.

Fledglings here abouts are starting to scatter-feeder visits are fewer and erratic-except for morning doves, song sparrows with young, and red winged blackbirds(2/noisy!)
