A group of 24 robins near the tall church on the Kennebec R., Phippsburg, contained at least one "Newfie" (photos), but can't estimate the ratio of them to "regulars". They seem attracted mostly to large brambles of multiflora rose.
Ca 100 Canada Geese in Mill Pond (behind Parker Head Dam) , included the large, hybrid, whitish goose ("Godzilla") that has wintered in the area for 4 or 5 years. Also included in the flock, and not noticed until I counted geese on the photo later, was a drake Ring-Necked Duck. Maine birds mailing list
