[Maine-birds] Webber Pond, Bremen

last week brought two chipping sparrows and I saw one again yesterday so hope they will stay--
have seen and heard an immature eagle and yesterday a mature eagle was down on the pond cleaning up after the ice fisherman--because they had been fishing close to shore, I had a beautiful view of the eagle--
the flicker still visits often--my platform feeder and suet are close to the house so I see him more closely than I do when he is working on the lawn--as he wraps around the suet cage the colors under his tail are visible and lovely.  The red bellied, downy, and hairy woodpeckers visit daily. the crows are regulars on the ground sites-- I haven't seen any ducks in two weeks--not even before the storm--
have heard (and seen) the cardinal a few times--
lots of titmice and chickadees and goldfinches and a few wb nuthatches--doves as always--
something has taken a few doves--I hear the flurry of flight--sometimes hear a thump as something crashes down--and have had a few glimpses of the hunter coming up from a dive or pausing--suspect a cooper's hawk  since he does hunt around my feeder.  One day pale feathers floated around all day like snow flakes-(my black lab came in with one on her back)--I never found the bird but the wind blew the feathers everywhere--
