[Maine-birds] Cherryfield Short-eared Owl

10 AM this morning, stopped at the intersection of Willey District Road and Route 1, I had a good look at a Short-eared Owl flying south across Route 1, into the large field there. In previous years I have seen probable Short-eared Owls twice in this same field (though at the other end), once about 10 AM and once about 2 PM, but never had a good enough look to be sure. In every case the bird flew along or into the woods edging the field. I'll check that field one of these evenings and see if I can see it again; it would be great if it were consistent.
