I thought this was interesting enough to share: My parents observed a Common Loon on the Megunticook River in Camden this morning. (My mom called and said, "There's a loon here. Is that normal this time of year?") Their house is about two miles from the harbor. Turns out their neighbor saw it the day before. There's currently enough open water right now along that stretch of the river that the loon was/will be able to eventually take off again.
