[Maine-birds] N. Shrike kills Tree Sparrow

I caught some motion of a larger bird outside our kitchen window, realized it was barred and jumped up to see the bird dive into our old Christmas tree on the ground. We'd seen an immature Northern Shrike a couple months ago outside this same window so I stood with my binocs and waited - then the shrike came out of the shrub and paused in perfect light - and I realized that he was holding a tree sparrow which then died. And the shrike took his prey and flew off!
