I had the Rough-legged Hawk near 295 and Beedle Rd. at 11:15 this morning. 

Also lots of PINE GROSBEAKS and a flock of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGs in Randolph, in the neighborhood around Closson St., Hillcrest, and Stevens Ave.

Cheryl Ring and I found the light phase Rough-legged Hawk that's been seen between Richmond and Gardiner since Jan 19 (Seth Benz). The Jan 19 sighting was the furthest south at I-295 and Rte 197, and the farthest north was the Jan 31 siting (Jeff Wells) on West Hill Rd in Gardiner. We found it today near I-295 and Beedle Rd, perched on top of a White Pine tree for a several minutes then flying to a new pine and repeating this, heading south. It was seen also seen slightly north of here on Jan 26 and Jan 27 (Noah Gibb, Bill Sheehan). There's a lot of farmland/pasture along I-295 from Richmond to West Gardiner. The Beedle Rd is a safer place to look than I-295 (Beedle Rd passes over the highway), and Weeks Road parallels the highway on the East side, from Beedle Rd north, and is a good place to pull over and scan (scope was helpful today). We stopped by the Gardiner boat launch on the Kennebec afterwards and found the hundreds of Bohemian Waxwings there that others have mentioned, along with some Cedars and Robins.
