It's fun when you get a Double Talon - when you win twice in a row you get to hold both hands up and flex your fingers like talons.

These sound like fun car games.  Driver at a disadvantage though, one would hope! :-)

We do it on short drive. My wife and I compete against each other. If you spot one you make a claw (talon) motion with your finger. First one to five talons wins.

We need to get a life. Actually, we have one because we are not just sitting in front of the tv or staring at our devices.

We do this too, but also place bets before setting out on how many we'll see.

I did that for many years! Each time trying to beat my own record. I was driving Portland to 495 in MA to Route 2 west toward Greenfield MA. Interesting to me was that the count always ended when I got onto Route 2 west. Almost never any RTHAs even though many miles traveled. They greatly prefer 95 and 495. My record over decades(?) of counting was 23 so you win Aletha. One time my occasional-birder sister did a count driving from NYC up to Northampton MA and counted 35! I was crushed.

On the way back from Needham MA, to Cape Neddick ME on Sunday, my kids and their wives and I had a contest.
Count the Red Tailed Hawks along 95.  Totals:  3 flying, and 29 on Trees!
